Boring backups for a home lab
I tried snapshots, cloud sync and a fancy deduplicating tool. What survived is a weekly rsync to a USB disk and a monthly copy kept at a friend's place.
The important part was not the tool but writing down how to restore. A backup you have never restored is a hope, not a backup.
rsync -aH --delete /srv/ /mnt/backup/srv/
